The Doghouse
"A state of disfavor…A state you do not need to visit…The doghouse is a place that many men have been to…A place that not many men care to be in…We can help you…"
First we need a better understanding of how we wind up there in the first place…it’s generally a place we wind up in… not a place we start out to go to…
Men operate on a point system…In other words men think we get one point for taking out the trash, one point for cutting the lawn, and one point for doing the dishes…This is true in our ladies eyes as well but here’s the kicker…Us guys believe we can save these points in our "point bank"…Unfortunately, women do not have an account at that bank…Not only that they keep score in a totally different fashion. Don’t ask why lets just accept it as one of the great mysteries of life and move on…Oh by the way, for some reason their point system has a very short shelf life…
Here’s what a recent industry survey had to say when asked “Why do men buy diamond jewelry for women?” both men and women that were asked and here the top ten reasons in no particular order :
- In trouble
- Romance
- Meet Her Expectations
- Special Occasion
- Reward for Accomplishment
- Appreciation
- Obligation
- Demonstrate their Love
- Compliments from her Friends
- Make Her Happy
REAL REASONS:
- Romance
- Appreciation of him
- Points for transgressions past or investment points for the future
In other words if something happened in the past the men feel they have got to make it up to the woman with points or invest the points for future occasions like:
“I bought you a $2500 dollar diamond necklace now let me go that fishing camp for four days”…You get it?
So when you come to me and you tell me that you need something to get you out the doghouse…My question to you is "Exactly how big is your doghouse?"
